Our HoneyLights are made of 100 percent natural beeswax. From the flowers to the hives to our workshop, the beeswax we use in our candles remains as pure as the source. The most common candle-making material, paraffin, is a petrochemical product that dissolves into the air we breath. Beeswax is an environment-friendly alternative that is beautiful, as well as:

• Non-toxic
• Long burning
• Non-sooting
• Sweet smelling

Naturally infused with the sweet smell of honey, the candles are a reflection of their original makers—the bees. And as these facts show, we help to keep the bees busy producing their fine-burning wax:

• 10 flowers contain 1 drop of nectar
• 1 bee can carry 1 drop of nectar
• 10 drops of nectar yield 1 drop of honey
• 10 drops of honey equals 1 drop of wax
• 1000 flowers yield 1 drop of beeswax

Worker bees manufacture the wax by secreting it from a gland in their abdomens. They then mold the wax with their jaws to create honeycomb cells for use in storing honey and raising young bees. When beeskeepers go to extract the honey, they cut off the wax caps from each honeycomb cell. These wax caps are then combined to to make up the special ingredient of our signature candle collections.

Care Instructions
Just as springtime flowers bloom, pure beeswax sometimes produces a bloom of its own. Beeswax bloom is a powdery substance that may appear after a period of time. Should your beeswax candles produce bloom, many enjoy the textural beauty. You can also heat them with a hair dryer, but be careful not to overheat. Bloom is your assurance of purity and it does not damage the integrity of your candle in any way.

For regular use and cleaning, you can treat your candles like a piece of fine china. Clean in warm soapy water and air dry. When burning for the first time, clip wick to 1/4 inch and light. Allow to burn for 15 - 20 minutes. Extinguish the flame and clip wick again to 1/4 inch. Relight. Trim wick to 1/4 inch before each burn and enjoy! Beeswax will sustain the test of time.

Everyone who lights the candles has a bit of ancient spark. We are miracles lighting up the dark.
